The 2024 season began for the Keuka College Cross Country teams on Saturday as the Wolves ran in the Hamilton College Short Course Invitational.
Both the Men’s and Women’s teams took eighth in the race. The women ran a 4K while the men ran a 5K.
The top finisher on the day for either team was Mae Ennis (Churchville, N.Y. / Churchville-Chili). The first-year student completed the course in 17:39.3 to finish 74th. The rest of the team finished 100 through 105. It was the first collegiate race for six of the seven runners, including Ennis.
In the men’s race, The Wolves ran as a pack and finished 101 through 106, except for 104th place. Jesse Bolster (Dolgeville, N.Y. / Dolgeville) picked off where he left off last year leading the team. Bolster completed the course in 20:40.7, 23 seconds ahead of Andrew Morrison (Hammondsport, N.Y. / Hammondsport) for Keuka.
The two teams will be back on the trails next weekend as they travel to Genesee Valley Park in Rochester for the University of Rochester Yellowjacket Invitational.
