St. John Fisher 3 vs. Keuka College 0 | 25-21, 29-27, 25-15
Keuka started strong in the first set, taking a 2-0 lead off a kill by Sydney Haust (Seneca Falls, N.Y. / Mynderse Academy) and a St. John Fisher error. The Wolves held momentum early, but St. John Fisher responded with a balanced attack, including a 6-1 run after a 14-14 tie. A service ace from Edholm got the Wolves back within one, but ultimately the Cardinals took the first set 25-21.
The second set was a back-and-forth battle with multiple ties and lead changes. Kills by Nina Scott (Honeoye Falls, N.Y. / Honeoye Falls-Lima) and Dayna Edholm, along with key blocks by Sydney Haust, helped Keuka force extra points. Keuka had six set-point opportunities but was unable to capitalize to finish the frame. Despite their efforts, St. John Fisher edged out the set 29-27.
In the third set, the two teams exchanged points early on to result in a 7-7 tie. From there, a relentless Fisher offense gave the Cardinals an 11-2 run. Although Gabby Rodriguez (Floresville, Texas / Floresville) anchored the defense with a match-high 23 digs, it wasn’t enough to slow down the Cardinals, who closed out the set 25-15 to complete the 3-0 sweep.
