The Keuka College Women’s Lacrosse team opened the 2026 season with a 16-2 victory at Hilbert College.
Laine Forde of Waterloo set a new career high with eight goals to lead Keuka College, now 1-0 on the season. Liz Spin of Auburn added four goals for the Wolves. Rylie Pratt of Penfield scored two goals, while Raegan Weissinger of Rushville and Brooklyn Ayers of Penn Yan each added a goal.
Keuka took control early behind strong draw work from Spin and steady play in goal from Lauren Vitello of Webster, who made several early saves. Pratt opened the scoring midway through the first quarter, and Forde quickly followed with a man-up goal off an assist from Ayers. After Hilbert scored during a brief advantage, the Wolves answered with two more goals from Forde to take a 4-1 lead after the opening quarter.
The Wolves broke the game open in the second quarter, outscoring Hilbert 6-0 while dominating possession. Spin and Pratt connected on back-to-back assisted goals, while Forde added multiple scores inside. Ayers capped the half with a goal in the closing seconds, and the Keuka defense held Hilbert without a shot on goal in the quarter as the Wolves carried a 10-1 lead into halftime.
Hilbert scored first in the third quarter, but Keuka responded 39 seconds later as Forde converted another assist from Ayers. The Wolves followed with goals from Raegan Weissinger and Forde to push the lead to 13-2 heading into the fourth.
Keuka continued to control the pace in the final quarter. Spin opened the scoring before Forde added another man-up goal. Spin later scored again late in the game to seal the 16-2 season-opening win.
Notes:
The Wolves improve to 8-0 all-time against Hilbert. It was Keuka’s first season-opening victory since 2022. Lauren Vitello finished with eight saves while playing the full game in goal, and Liz Spin recorded a game-high eight draw controls.
Up next, the Wolves will play their first home game of the season this weekend when they host Allegheny College at 1 p.m. at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex. Allegheny defeated Keuka 14-7 in the teams’ only previous meeting last season.
