The Keuka College Women’s Lacrosse team, winners of four straight, saw their streak come to an end on Wednesday, losing at Alfred University 18-5.
Lainie Forde (Waterloo, N.Y. / Waterloo) scored a pair of goals for Keuka College (4-4, 1-1). Lauren Vitello (Webster, N.Y. / Webster Schroeder) made 11 stops in goal.

Things started well for the Wolves as Rylie Pratt (Ontario, N.Y. / Wayne) won the opening draw and Keuka went on the attack. Brooklyn Ayers (Penn Yan, N.Y. / Penn Yan Academy) passed it to Lainie Forde for the opening goal 47 seconds into the game. Alfred tied the game two minutes later after a turnover on the clear by the Wolves led to the goal. The Saxons added two more goals, including one with eight seconds left in the frame, to lead 3-1 after one.
Alfred University took control in the second quarter. The Saxons outscored the Wolves 7-1 in the second. Keuka’s lone goal was a woman-down goal by Brooke Bonetti (Seneca Falls, N.Y. / Mynderse Academy). Alfred led 10-2 at the half.
The Saxons continued with a pair of goals in the first 34 seconds to push the lead to ten. Tori Nelson (Vernon Center, N.Y. / Vernon-Verona-Sherrill) got one back from a free position shot, but Alfred responded with two more. Rosie Wallace (Oswego, N.Y. / Oswego) got in on the scoring with a free position goal, but Alfred scored in the final minute to take a 15-4 lead into the final quarter.
Alfred saw the game out in the fourth. Keuka got a goal from Forde with Pratt getting the assist, but the Saxons outscored the Wolves 3-1 in the frame to defeat Keuka College 18-5.

· Keuka College falls to 9-7 all-time against Alfred University. The Saxons have on the last four matchups
· Katie Deatherage (Canandaigua, N.Y. / Marcus Whitman) had a caused turnover in the game. That broke a tie with Danielle Chidsey ’19 for tenth on the career list at Keuka College
· Rosie Wallace and Sarah O’Brian (Trout Run, Pa. / Montoursville Area) tied for the team lead with three caused turnovers in the game
· Rylie Pratt had six draw controls for the Wolves
Up Next for Keuka College: Keuka College will return home this weekend. The Wolves will host Utica University at 1 p.m. on Saturday in an Empire 8 Conference game at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex.
