Mary Cotter (Hershey, Pa. / Hershey) made a jumper in the lane to snap the run, but the visitors answered right back. Houghton led 18-10 after the first.

Houghton extended their lead to as many as 16 through the first part of the second quarter. However, the Wolves got hot from three. A pair of Sydney Brown (Lowville, N.Y. / Lowville Academy) triples sandwiched a layup by Katie Deatherage (Canandaigua, N.Y. / Marcus Whitman). Sophia Babcock followed with a three for the Wolves. In total, it was a 12-0 run for the Green and Gold to shrink the margin to four. The Highlanders made the final basket of the half to carry a six-point lead into halftime.

The second half belonged to the Highlanders as the visitors heated up from three. Houghton University made eight threes in the final 20 minutes as they defeated the Wolves 77-39.
