Keuka Women Fall at Home to Elmira

The Keuka College Women’s Basketball team lost on Tuesday night to Elmira College 75-47 at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center.

Janea Hamilton-Brown (Liverpool, N.Y. / Liverpool) led Keuka College (5-19, 0-15 Empire 8) with 11 points. Isabella Colon (Pine Bush, N.Y. / Pine Bush) followed with nine.

The Soaring Eagles got out to a quick 10-0 over the Wolves on Tuesday. Sydney Brown (Lowville, N.Y. / Lowville Academy) made a jumper in the lane to get Keuka College on the board. The Wolves cut the margin down to six, but Elmira extended it up to 15 points. Hamilton-Brown made the final basket of the quarter, but Keuka trailed 25-12 after one.

Elmira again started the quarter strong with eight straight points. Janea Hamilton-Brown got an offensive rebound and layup for Keuka College. She was fouled and completed the three-point play. Elmira outscored Keuka 19-9 in the quarter and led 44-21 at the half.

Elmira College maintained their lead in the third quarter and saw the game out in the fourth as they defeated Keuka College 75-47 on Tuesday night.

  • The Wolves fall to 17-26 all-time against Elmira College in the third-most played series in program history. The Soaring Eagles have won the last eight meetings
  • As a team, Keuka College had five blocks defensively led by Ellen Lavonas (Rochester, N.Y. / Brighton) with two. The Wolves now have 74 on the season, eighth-most in program history
  • Caiden Crego (Lyons, N.Y. / Lyons) had three assists for the Wolves. The senior guard set a new personal best with 61 this season
  • Katie Deatherage (Canandaigua, N.Y. / Marcus Whitman) also set a personal best for rebounds in a season. The senior grabbed three today, giving her 140 on the year
  • Brooke Burd (Canisteo, N.Y. / Canisteo-Greenwood) led the Wolves with six boards against Elmira

Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves have one game remaining in the 2024-25 season. Keuka College will host Utica University on Wednesday at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center. Tipoff against the Pioneers is set for 5:30 p.m.
