The Keuka College Softball team split an Empire 8 Conference doubleheader with Elmira College on Tuesday afternoon.
Keuka College 6 vs. Elmira College 2 – Game 1
The Soaring Eagles had three straight hits in the first to take a 1-0 lead. The Soaring Eagles added a run on a Keuka error to extend their advantage to 2-0.
The Wolves began to chip away at the deficit in the second. Grace Eagen (Buffalo, N.Y. / West Seneca West) walked and then scored on a double by Haley Mascho (Bolivar, N.Y. / Bolivar-Richburg) to make it 2-1.
Keuka College continued to add runs, scoring in the third to tie the game. Kaylin Ritenour (Madison, Pa. / Yough) singled and stole second. She scored on a single by Hailey Jasinski (Buffalo, N.Y. / North Collins) to tie the game.
Mascho scoring Eagen from first happened again in the fourth as the sophomore hit her second RBI double of the game to give the Wolves a 3-2.
Olivia Flynn (Williamson, N.Y. / Williamson) was in control in the circle for the Wolves. She sat the Soaring Eagles down 1-2-3 to keep the momentum going and send Keuka back to the plate.
Flynn led off the fifth with a walk and scored on a double by Hailey Jasinski. Back-to-back singles by Makenna DeMoney (Conklin, N.Y. / Susquehanna Valley) and Giana Mruczek (Batavia, N.Y. / Batavia) added a run. Emily Cutrona (Buffalo, N.Y. / West Seneca West) later singled to score Mruczek and extend the Keuka advantage to 6-2.
Olivia Flynn went the distance for the Wolves, pitching a complete game with eight strikeouts, as Keuka College defeated Elmira College 6-2.
Elmira College 13 at Keuka College 5 (6 inn.) – Game 2
The Soaring Eagles took a 3-0 lead over the Wolves in the third and added a run in the fourth and three more in the fifth to build a 7-0 advantage.
Keuka College had four straight hits to lead off the bottom of the fifth as they attempted to stay in the game. Ritenour and Jasinski had RBI singles for the Wolves during the stretch. Keuka College later loaded the bases and two scored on an RBI single by Grace Eagen. A groundout by Emily Cutrona that scored a run capped the scoring for the Wolves as Keuka got back into the game, cutting the deficit to two.
The Wolves got two outs in the sixth, but a pair of errors extended the inning. Elmira would go on to score six runs in the frame. The Wolves were retired in order in the bottom of the inning as Elmira College defeated Keuka College 13-5 in six innings.

- Keuka College is now 12-30 all-time against Elmira College
- Olivia Flynn tied her season and career high with eight strikeouts in game one. The junior has set a new career high with 47 strikeouts this season
- Haley Mascho had a career-high two doubles in game one. Hailey Jasinski and Kaylin Ritenour also had two hits in the opener
- Flynn added a double for the Wolves in game two. It was the 28th of her career, moving into sole possession of second place on the Keuka College Softball career list
- The double was also the 101st hit of her career as Flynn hit 100 career hit milestone on Monday against Nazareth
Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves are back in action on Friday as Keuka College hosts Houghton University at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex. Keuka will look to extend its four-game winning streak over the Highlanders and stay in the playoff race. It will also be Senior Day for the Keuka College Softball team as the Wolves will honor the graduating class of 2025 in a ceremony between games of the doubleheader.
