SUNY Geneseo 9 vs. Keuka College 1 (6 inn.) – Game 1

Keuka College looked to strike early at SUNY Geneseo. Olivia Flynn (Williamson, N.Y. / Williamson) led off the game with a shot into the left centerfield gap, but the Geneseo centerfielder made a diving catch. Keuka would have their turn with the defense in the bottom of the inning as Abbie DeRock (Hunt, N.Y. / Letchworth) started a 1-6-3 double play to end the first.

The game remained scoreless until the top of the fourth. Flynn led off the inning with another shot into the gap. This one fell into the right centerfield gap for a leadoff double. She moved to third on a bunt and scored on a single by Hailey Jasinski (Buffalo, N.Y. / North Collins) to make it 1-0.

However, the Knights would hold the Wolves at one. SUNY Geneseo would score seven in the fifth and add two more in the sixth to defeat the Wolves 9-1 in six innings.

SUNY Geneseo kept up the offensive attack. The Knights plated six in the third and continued on to the 10-1 victory.

KC Notes:

  • The Wolves remain in search of their first win at SUNY Geneseo, losing all 13 games on the Knights’ home field. SUNY Geneseo leads the all-time series 21-1
  • Olivia Flynn was the only Wolf to record a hit in both games
  • Sienna Olney’s single was her first collegiate hit

Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves are next in action on Sunday with a non-conference doubleheader at Hilbert College.
