The Keuka College Men’s Soccer team fell 5-1 to Russell Sage College in Empire 8 Conference action on Saturday afternoon.
Cole Santiago (Rochester, N.Y. / Rush Henrietta) scored the lone goal for the Wolves in the 80th minute, but the team was unable to overcome an early deficit. Cory Cangemi (Marcellus, N.Y. / Marcellus) recorded nine saves in goal for the Wolves.
Russell Sage College 5 vs. Keuka College 1
Russell Sage struck early, netting the first goal just eight minutes into the match. The Gators connected again in the 21st minute to double their lead and a third goal just two minutes later. After outshooting the Wolves 17-0, Sage was able to find the back of the net one last time to go up 4-0 going into halftime.
Just under five minutes into the second half, the Gators scored for the fifth time. Despite the deficit, Keuka College found more opportunities in the second half. Cole Santiago capitalized on one of those chances, scoring in the 80th minute to get the Wolves on the board. Santiago was able to put another ball within the posts but was denied by the Gator’s goalkeeper. Russell Sage won the game 5-1.
