SUNY Canton 1 vs. Keuka College 0

Both teams had chances early in the game on Tuesday, but it would be SUNY Canton who struck first. The Roos got the ball into the box and snuck a tight-angled shot over Cangemi for the 1-0 lead. The Wolves continued to push but were unable to find the back of the goal. Shots were 7-7 in the opening half, but SUNY Canton led at the break.

Keuka College would have the shot advantage in the second 45 minutes, outshooting the Roos 10-9. However, SUNY Canton had the edge in shots on goal, 4-2. Both goalies stopped all attempts as the Roos held on to defeat the Wolves 1-0.

KC Notes:

  • The Wolves remain in search of their first win over the Roos as SUNY Canton leads the all-time series 3-0-1
  • Keuka College won the shot battle for the first time this season
  • Kaleb Glessing (Ontario, N.Y. / Wayne) and Anthony Pontello (Syracuse, N.Y. / West Genesee) each had two shots on goal in the game, accounting for all of Keuka’s shots on goal
  • With his six saves, Cory Cangemi moves into a tie for sixth on the career saves list with 159

Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves remain on the road this weekend for an Empire 8 game at Nazareth University. The Wolves and Golden Flyers have played close games over the past two seasons, with each team getting a 1-0 victory as the road team.
