Tre Lloyd of Canandaigua led the Wolves with a hat trick, scoring three goals and tying his career high for goals in a game. Harrison Root of Jefferson, New Jersey added two goals for the Green and Gold, while Cam Hovater of Camillus recorded a goal and an assist. Toby Tummino of LaFayette and Austin Holsclaw of Queensbury also scored for Keuka. Nikolas Gitsis of North Chili led the offense with three assists.
Keuka struck early to build momentum in the first quarter. The Wolves generated steady pressure on the Pitt.-Bradford defense and scored three times in the opening 15 minutes. Lloyd found the net early while Root and Holsclaw also scored to give Keuka a 3-1 lead after the first quarter.
The second quarter turned into a defensive battle as both teams tightened up on the defensive end. The Wolves continued to control possession and added a goal midway through the period to extend the lead. Pitt.-Bradford responded with a late goal, but Keuka held a 4-2 advantage at halftime.
Coming out of the break, Keuka pushed its lead during a strong third quarter. Root scored his second goal of the game and Lloyd completed his hat trick as the Wolves scored three times in the period. Pitt.-Bradford answered with two goals, but Keuka still led 7-4 heading into the fourth quarter.
The Panthers made a late push in the final period with two goals to cut the deficit. However, the Wolves controlled key possessions down the stretch, and Tummino added an insurance goal as the Keuka defense held firm to secure the 8-6 victory.
Up next, the Wolves will play their first home game of the season on Saturday, March 7 when they host Lycoming College.
