SHARE NOW

The Keuka College men’s basketball team dropped its first road game of the season Wednesday night, falling 71–59 to Lycoming College in non-conference action.

Lamar Lovelace (Rochester, N.Y. / Northeast College Prep) led the Wolves with 11 points, while Akinlana Popoola (Cleveland, Ohio / Padua Franciscan) followed with 10. On the boards, Makya Morrison (Oneonta, N.Y. / Oneonta) and Kaleb Nutifafa (Elmsford, N.Y. / Alexander Hamilton) both grabbed 13 rebounds for Keuka (1–2).

The Wolves started strong, as Quinn VanKerkhove (Irondequoit, N.Y. / Irondequoit) hit a three-pointer to open the game. Popoola scored eight straight to tie things up early, and Lovelace added a three to give Keuka a 14–11 lead. Lycoming answered with a run of its own and pulled away to lead 43–25 at halftime.

Lycoming extended its advantage to 23 points early in the second half before Keuka made a push. The Wolves went on a 14–0 run to cut the deficit to nine and later got within six at 52–46 on a basket by Amar Jackson (Brooklyn, N.Y. / Frederick Douglass Academy). That was as close as Keuka would get, as Lycoming held on for the win.
