The 2024-25 Men’s Basketball season came to an end on Wednesday for Keuka College as the Wolves fell at home to Utica University 78-58.
Keuka College finished the season with a 6-10 record in the Empire 8 Conference. Keuka tied for eighth in the 12-team league but missed out on the last playoff berth due to tiebreakers. The Wolves were 9-15 overall on the season.
Senior Jaden Keasey (Newport News, Va. / Menchville) saved the best game of his career for his final one, setting career highs with 20 points and 14 rebounds. Akinlana Popoola (Cleveland, Ohio / Padua Franciscan) added 17 points for the Wolves and Marcus Reed (Queens, N.Y. / Our Saviour Lutheran) was also in double figures with 10 points.
The Pioneers jumped out to a 7-0 and 15-3 lead over Keuka College on Wednesday. A three by Jaden Keasey cut the difference down to nine, but Utica continued to hit shots. The game settled midway through the half. The Wolves stayed in the game, but Utica maintained a 10-point advantage. The Pioneers went on an 8-0 run to create some separation. Keuka College kept Utica off the board for the final 2:50 of the first half. The Wolves responded to Utica’s run with seven unanswered capped with a three by Popoola and a layup by Keasey. Keuka trained 39-28 at the half.
Keuka quickly kept the run going as Amar Jackson (Brooklyn, N.Y. / Frederick Douglas Academy) got a steal and Makya Morrison (Oneonta, N.Y. / Oneonta) dunked it home on the break to cut the margin to nine. However, Utica responded and slowly started to widen their lead. The Pioneers led by as many as 22 in the half as they would defeat the Wolves 78-58.

- The Wolves have dropped 10 straight to the Pioneers. Keuka College is 7-23 all-time against Utica
- It was the third double-double of Jaden Keasey’s career and second of the season
- Akinlana Popoola knocked down three threes for the Wolves. The junior finished his first season at Keuka College with 53 triples, the ninth-most in a season in program history
- The Wolves finished the season with 165 threes, seventh-most in program history
