The Keuka College Field Hockey team lost a non-conference game on Wednesday at Oswego State 7-1. Kirstin Billings (Hilton, N.Y. / Hilton) scored the lone goal for Keuka College (1-4, 1-0 Empire 8).
The Wolves started off on the front foot with a pair of corners in the opening two minutes but were unable to generate a shot. The host Lakers broke through with a goal midway through the quarter. Alexis McGregor (Liverpool, N.Y. / Liverpool) had an attempt, but it was saved. Oswego added a goal to lead 2-0 after one.
The two teams combined for nine shots in the second quarter, but only a third of them were on goal. The two goalies did their job as Jordan Nichols (Deposit, N.Y. / Afton) recorded a pair of saves and Oswego’s goalie stopped Keuka’s shot on goal. The game would go to halftime with the Lakers holding a 2-0 lead.
Oswego scored in the opening two minutes of the second half to extend their lead. The Lakers added a goal and carried a 4-0 lead into the final quarter.
After the Lakers scored their fifth goal, Keuka College got on the board. Kirstin Billings found the back of the goal for her third goal of the season. However, Oswego scored two more goals on their way to the 7-1 victory.

· With her goal, Kirstin Billings breaks a tie and now sits in sole possession of third on the career goals list with 19
· With the addition of SUNY Brockport and SUNY Geneseo to the Empire 8, Oswego State is now the only program that Keuka College has played in every season of program history without any of the meetings being a conference game
Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves are back home on Saturday with a non-conference test against St. Lawrence University. The 3 p.m. game at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex will be just the second meeting between the Wolves and the Saints. St. Lawrence won 7-2 on their home field last year.
