Men’s Soccer goalkeeper Cory Cangemi (Marcellus, N.Y. / Marcellus) was named Keuka College’s representative for the Empire 8 Men’s Soccer Sportsman of the Year on Tuesday.
Cangemi started 14 games in goal for the Wolves in his senior season. He led the Empire 8 Conference with 91 total saves, the tenth-most in a season in program history. Cangemi ranked 15th in the country with 6.50 saves per game.
In his career, Cangemi played in 42 games while making 39 starts. He amassed 219 stops in his career, leaving Keuka College with the fifth-most saves in Keuka College Men’s Soccer history.
Cangemi was one of 12 from the conference honored. From the conference’s release, “The Empire 8 Conference emphasizes that ‘Competing with Honor and Integrity’ is an essential component of a student-athlete’s experience in conjunction with an institution’s educational mission. These honorees have distinguished themselves and consistently exhibit the critical traits as outstanding sportsmen.”
