Keuka College Women’s Soccer lost 4-0 to Brockport on Saturday afternoon. It was the first meeting of the two teams since Brockport joined the Empire 8 Conference.
Elianna Wilder (Victor, N.Y. / Victor) continues to post large numbers in goal for the Wolves, with 14 saves on the day. Peyton Steates (Whitesboro, N.Y. / Whitesboro) and Delaney Szostak (Marion N.Y. / Marion) both had shots on goal for Keuka.
Brockport set the tone early in the match, scoring in just the sixth minute off a corner kick to take a 1-0 lead. The hosts maintained control throughout the first half, outshooting Keuka 16-0. Wilder stood tall in goal, making seven saves in the opening 45 minutes to keep the Wolves within reach. Keuka went into halftime trailing 1-0.
The second half saw more pressure from Brockport, who doubled their lead just after the break. Despite Keuka’s attempts to generate offense, Brockport scored again in the 50th minute to make it 3-0. Keuka found some rhythm in the second half, with shots on goal from Delaney Szostak and Peyton Steates but their efforts were denied by the Brockport goalkeeper. Brockport added a fourth goal in the 89th minute to seal the win 4-0.
Up Next for Keuka College: The Green and Gold will faceoff with Nazareth University on Friday under the lights with a 7 p.m. start. Like the Brockport matchup, this will be the first time Keuka faces the Golden Flyers since Nazareth joined the Empire 8.
