The Keuka College women’s soccer team opened its Empire 8 Conference schedule with a 0-0 draw against Alfred University on Saturday at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex.
Goalkeeper Elianna Wilder (Victor, N.Y.) earned the clean sheet with five saves, helping the Wolves (0-3-3, 0-0-1 Empire 8) secure their first result of the season against the Saxons.
Both teams had scoring chances throughout the match. Keuka pushed on the counter in the second half, with Delaney Szostak (Marion, N.Y.) and Rilee Nunan (Hamburg, N.Y.) coming close to breaking the deadlock, but Alfred’s defense held strong.
The draw snaps a four-game losing streak for Keuka against Alfred and marks the first time the Wolves have drawn three straight games in program history.
Keuka will return to Empire 8 action next Saturday, hosting SUNY Brockport at 3 p.m. at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex.
