The Keuka College women’s volleyball team fell in straight sets to SUNY Geneseo on Saturday, dropping the non-conference matchup 3-0 at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center.
Despite the loss, senior Nina Scott (Honeoye Falls, N.Y.) reached a personal milestone, surpassing 200 career digs. She entered the match needing just two and finished with eight on the day.
The Wolves (record not provided) battled early, rallying from an 11-3 deficit in the opening set to take a brief 22-21 lead before Geneseo closed with four straight points to win 25-22. Keuka opened the second set strong with a 4-1 run behind the serving of Gabby Rodriguez (Floresville, Texas), but the Knights responded and controlled the rest of the frame, 25-16.
In the third, Keuka tied the score at 6-6 thanks to key plays from Scott, but an eight-point Geneseo run put the set — and the match — out of reach, 25-15.
Up next:
Keuka College will stay home Friday, Oct. 17, for a 6 p.m. matchup against St. John Fisher.
