Keuka College senior third baseman Kyle Wood (Newark, N.Y. / Newark) was named Third Team All-Region 3 by D3Baseball.com.
Wood was the first Keuka College Baseball player honored since the Wolves joined the Empire 8 Conference. Region 3 consists of schools in the Empire 8 Conference as well as the Liberty League, SUNYAC, and Skyline Conference.
Kyle Wood hit .367 for the Wolves with 44 hits and 38 runs scored while starting all 36 games for the Green and Gold. He posted one of the best offensive seasons for Keuka College with a .474 on-base percentage and a .583 slugging percentage, both ranking in the top ten in program history.
Wood joined RJ Murphy ’24 as the only Wolf to be a first-team selection by the Empire 8 Conference, and like Murphy, Wood earned the Dana Schillinger Man of the Year Award at Keuka.
Historically, three other Keuka College student-athletes have been honored by D3Baseball.com. Jon Borchert ’15 twice earned the honor in 2013 and 2014. John Rizzo ’18 was honored in 2018, and Brooks Vertoske ’20 was the most recent honoree, being named to the Second Team in 2019.
