The Keuka College Baseball lost at Hobart College 11-10 on Thursday night in a non-conference game.

The lefties paced the offense for Keuka College (10-16, 4-10 Empire 8) as Alex Evans (Liverpool, N.Y. / Liverpool) and Derek Novicki (North Haven, Conn. / North Haven) each had three hits for the Wolves. Carlos Fantauzzi (Canandaigua, N.Y. / Canandaigua Academy) added a pair of hits and added two runs scored and two runs driven in.

The Wolves took the lead over Hobart right off the bat in the first inning. Alex Evans led off with a single and Kyle Wood (Newark, N.Y. / Newark) followed with a walk. After both moved up on a wild pitch, Carlos Fantauzzi scored them on a single for the 2-0 lead. Fantauzzi stole second and scored on a double by John Valinoti (Babylon, N.Y. / Babylon). The Wolves continued to hit as Tyler Lewandowski (Milltown, N.J. / Spotswood) switched places with Valinoti with a double of his own. The Wolves added a run on an error and the lineup would turn over. Alex Evans had his second hit of the inning to score Ian Ruhmel (Horseheads, N.Y. / Horseheads) and give the Wolves a 6-0 lead.

Hobart got one back in the bottom of the frame, but Keuka answered that run in the second. Derek Novicki doubled to left centerfield for Keuka and scored on a single up the middle by Tyler Lewandowski to make it 7-1.

The Statesmen threatened in the third, loading the bases with one out. Starting pitcher Keegan Ferris (Elbridge, N.Y. / Jordan Elbridge) got a groundball to Alex Evans at shortstop. He flipped the ball to Lewandowski at second who threw it across to Novicki at first for the inning-ending double play.

Both teams scored a run in the fourth with John Valinoti hitting a sacrifice fly for the Wolves. Hobart then pulled three back in the sixth and one in the eighth to make it 8-6.

The Wolves added two insurance runs in the top of the ninth. Carlos Fantauzzi led off with a walk and moved to third on a single by Derek Novicki. A balk scored Fantauzzi. Novicki later scored on a passed ball as Keuka College took a 10-6 lead into the bottom of the ninth.

However, Hobart would score five in the bottom of the ninth for the walk-off 11-10 victory over Keuka College.
