The Finger Lakes Community College women’s basketball team cruised to a commanding 83-30 victory over SUNY Adirondack on Saturday, improving to 3-5 on the season. Behind a balanced offensive attack and relentless defensive pressure, the Lakers controlled the game from start to finish.
Ella Robinson (Hallstead, Pennsylvania/Blue Ridge) led the way with a team-high 21 points, including 2 three-pointers, while adding 6 rebounds and 2 assists. Jazzmyn Lewis (Waterloo, N.Y./Waterloo) stuffed the stat sheet with 20 points, 7 rebounds, 9 assists, and an impressive 13 steals.
Dalayla Alexander (Ellicottville, N.Y./Ellicottville) contributed 18 points on an efficient 7-11 shooting, adding 8 rebounds and 5 assists to round out a strong performance. Kierra Shaughnessy (Canastota, N.Y./Canastota) chipped in with 11 points, and Jade Roussell (Dundee, N.Y./Dundee) added 12 points, giving the Lakers five players in double figures.
The Lakers shot an impressive 54.8% from the field and hit 50.0% from beyond the arc while forcing 17 steals and limiting their turnovers to just 11. Their stifling defense held SUNY Adirondack to just 30 points, securing their most dominant win of the season.
The Lakers will look to carry this momentum into today’s home game against Hudson Valley as they continue to build on their strong play.
