Cayuga Community College Men’s Soccer took two more home matches over the weekend, improving their record to 11-0 with three matches remaining in the regular season.
The Spartans took control early on Sunday against Hudson Valley Community College with five first-half goals en route to an 8-1 final. On Saturday, Cayuga dominated against SUNY Adirondack in an 11-2 win. All the #3 Spartans’ wins on the season have come in Region III competition.
In Sunday’s contest, the Spartans ran out to a 5-0 first-half lead before adding three more goals in the second half. Bigad Sid had a hat trick and three assists and Jacob Botterill had two goals and three assists. Oliver Bowman, Matthew Manton, and Jack Thomas had the other three goals.
Against SUNY Adirondack, Cayuga built a 4-0 lead by halftime on their way to scoring the first 10 goals of the match. Botterill finished with three goals and three assists, Sid had two goals and an assist, Hayden Poole had two goals, Will Fearon had three assists and Charlie Piper had two assists.
Cayuga has one final home match in the regular season against Jamestown Community College, scheduled for Friday, Oct. 4, at 6 p.m. They follow that contest with two more away matches to end the regular season.
