The Hobart lacrosse team got back in the win column with a 13-8 victory at Le Moyne this afternoon. The Statesmen broke the game open with seven consecutive first half goals.
Junior midfielder David Peterkin led all scorers with four goals. Senior attackman Will Delano added a game-high four assists. Senior midfielder John Jude Considine (3g, 1a) and junior midfielder Cade Dino (2g, 2a) also enjoyed four point games. The Statesmen, who entered the game with the fifth ranked faceoff unit in the nation, continued their dominance at the X. Hobart won 18-of-23 faceoffs behind graduate student Cole Emmanuel (11-of-14) and Seamus Schofield (7-of-9). Emmaunel led the Statesmen to a 31-12 advantage in ground balls, scooping up a game-high eight. Junior Elhanan Wilson made six saves to earn the win.
Ryan Eisenmann led Le Moyne with four points on three goals and an assist. The Dolphins used two goalies. Carter Ruhm made one save in just over 17 minutes, while Lucas Winger stopped 10 shots in relief.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Le Moyne took a 2-1 lead early in the first quarter, but it proved to be their only lead of the game.
- Peterkin tied the game with a laser to the top right corner from the right alley. Three minutes later, he gave the Statesmen the lead on a give-and-go with Delano.
- Hobart won the ensuing faceoff and Delano assisted on his third straight goal, setting up junior Michael Shafer’s long-pole goal.
- Considine scored the next two goals, including a buzzer beater to end the first quarter with a 6-2 lead.
- First-year Daniel Cano and junior Connor DiTomasso stretched the run to seven straight for the Statesmen for an 8-2 lead four minutes into the second quarter.
- Hobart took a 9-4 lead into halftime and played the Dolphins to a draw in the second half.
- Le Moyne got within three twice down the stretch, but each time the Statesmen responded with back-to-back goals to quell the threat.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Delano’s four assists raised his career total to 40. He jumped from 18th into a tie for 15th with Tim Bigelow ’11 and Jared Bebee ’00 on Hobart’s Division I era list.
NEXT GAME
- Hobart will play the third game of a four-game road trip when the Statesmen visit Dartmouth for a noon faceoff on Saturday, March 15.
