SHARE NOW

An initiative to build 800-THOUSAND new homes over the next decade to address a housing shortage in New York was included in the Governor’s proposed budget.

State Senator Pam Helming says it will be critical for local lawmakers like herself to make sure all of the funding for this plan doesn’t go downstate.

Helming says funding can also be used upstate to explore repurposing vacant buildings like schools into housing complexes to help address the housing shortage.
