If you live in Onondaga County, obtaining a pistol permit just got a little bit easier.
Sheriff Toby Shelley has announced he will reopen the pistol permit office at the sheriff’s headquarters, 407 S State Street in Syracuse, which has been closed since 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In addition, Shelley is hiring three part time employees to assist in making the permit process more accessible and customer friendly.
The office will reopen on February 6th.
