The representative for New York’s 22nd Congressional District which includes Jordan, Skaneateles, and Syracuse is cosponsoring an amendment to the US Constitution imposing term limits for congress.
Republican Brandon Williams of Sennett has cosponsored a resolution that would impose a maximum of three two year terms for house members and two six year terms for senators.
To become an amendment, the resolution would need to pass both houses of congress with a 2/3 majority and then be ratified by 3/4 of the states.
