Two Wayne County residents were arrested Saturday after an investigation into the sexual assault of minors in 2015.
Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies report the arrest of 43-year-old Michael Akers of Newark and 35-year-old Tammy Akers of Lyons for allegedly acting in concert to sexually abuse two children on multiple separate occasions between August 2015 and February 2016.
Michael Akers was charged with sexual abuse, aggravated family offense, and endangering the welfare of a child. Tammy Akers was charged with two counts each of predatory sexual assault against a child, rape, and endangering the welfare of a child.
Both were taken to Wayne County jail to await arraignment.
