Students from Auburn and Bloomfield will be participating in the FIRST LEGO League Competition at the state level after placing in Saturday’s local challenge at Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES.
Students from grades 5-8 were tasked with constructing LEGO robots that were capable of completing a variety of tasks.
Fifth grader Natalie Sperduti was on one of Owasco Elementary’s teams, Kilo-What; she said that despite not moving on, they’re going to train next year’s Owasco competitors:
Five teams from Saturday will move on to the state competition in Buffalo on February 18th where they’ll vie for spot at the international level.
The five teams moving on are listed below:
- N3xt Gen – students from various schools in the Liverpool area
- Builder Boys – McQuaid Jesuit
- Speed of the Bombers – Bloomfield
- The Electric Axolotls – Namaste Montessori (Trumansburg)
- Solar Ambush – Auburn Junior High
