A new appointment in Washington for Congresswoman Claudia Tenney.
The Republican has been chosen to serve on the House Science, Space and Technology Committee, which has jurisdiction over all non-defense-related federal scientific research and development portfolios.
Tenney said the Committee is vitally important for the U.S. to maintain its technological edge over adversaries like China.
She was also named to the committee’s Energy Subcommittee, which has jurisdiction over the Department of Energy’s research and development programs.
