Arkansas State Police Arrest Wanted Wayne County Man

A man wanted on a number of warrants in Wayne County is now in the custody of Arkansas State Police.

The Sheriff’s Office says it had been tracking the whereabouts of 38-year-old Joshua Payne as he hitchhiked across the country. After eventually ending up in Arkansas, police there took Payne into custody on warrants out of Lyons Town Court and Wayne County court on charges of petit larceny, harassment and criminal contempt.

Payne was extradited back to New York and is awaiting arraignment in county court.
