In June, Yates County maintained an unemployment rate of 3.1 percent, unchanged from May.
Ontario County’s unemployment rate for June was 3.2 percent, Schuyler County recorded 3.5 percent, and Steuben County had a rate of 3.7 percent. Tompkins County, known for having one of the state’s lowest monthly unemployment rates, reported a 3.8 percent rate in June.
Statewide, the unemployment rate remained steady at 4.2 percent from May, according to figures released by the New York State Labor Department.
