    IMPACTS
    The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 15 to 20 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. Very cold temperatures can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible.

Yates County Welcomes Three New Sheriff’s Deputies

The Yates County Sheriff’s Office has welcomed three new members to its ranks. Deputies Nicholas Fultz, Andrew Garren, and Trenton Lane all grew up in Yates County and graduated from the Finger Lakes Law Enforcement Academy this week.

The three have had over 1,200 hours of municipal police training and now will take part in a 12-week field training period.

Several members of the Yates County Sheriff’s Office served as instructors in the Academy.
