The Yates County community is invited to attend a special dedication at the Public Safety Building this week.
Sheriff Ron Spike says a memorial will be erected in honor of all K9s that have served the county in the past as a lasting tribute to their public safety service during the New York State Sheriff’s Institute’s Annual K9 training week.
Wednesday’s ceremony will take place in front of the Public Safety Building on Main Street in Penn Yan at 5:30 p.m.
Back in August, the Sheriff’s Office announced the untimely passing of K9 Kinni (pictured above), who was a member of the Sheriff’s Office for 11 years.
