Yates County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Retires After 22 Years

The Yates County Sheriff’s Office has announced the retirement of Lt. Arlyn Cunningham from its Criminal Investigations Division.

Sheriff Frank Ryan praised Cunningham as a valued employee and friend to all at the office. Cunningham began his career with the sheriff’s office in February 2004, starting in the Road Patrol. He was promoted to Criminal Investigator in 2013 and received a permanent appointment as Lieutenant in 2024.

In addition to his law enforcement career, Cunningham served two tours overseas with the U.S. Army, in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Sheriff Ryan thanked Cunningham for his dedication to service and justice, noting he will be greatly missed, and wished him well in his future endeavors.
