At the end of the week, a 53-year career in law enforcement in Yates County will come to an end. Sheriff Ron Spike will retire on Friday. In an interview that will air Friday morning on WFLR and look back on his career, Sheriff Spike said without a doubt, that changes in technology have made the biggest impact on law enforcement since he was hired in 1970.
Upon graduating from Monroe Community College in 1970, Sheriff Spike was hired as a deputy sheriff in Yates County. His first term as sheriff started in 1992. You can hear our hour-long interview with Sheriff Spike Friday morning at 9 on Finger Lakes Country WFLR.
