Yates County’s personnel officer has been elected the next president of the New York State Association of Personnel and Civil Service Officers.
In this new role on the Executive Committee, Kerry Brennan will work directly with New York State Civil Service Representatives, including Commissioner and President of State Civil Service Commission, Timothy Houges, who was appointed by Governor Hochul in 2022. As President, Kerry will represent the association and assist in facilitating meaningful change to the New York State Civil Service System, ensuring it continues to serve the citizens of New York with the highest standards of integrity and efficiency.
“This recognition of Kerry is not only a testament to her exceptional skills and dedication but also highlights the value she brings to Yates County as a professional leading the Personnel Department,” said Nicole Yaggle with NYSAPCSO. “Her contributions are newsworthy, and we believe she should be celebrated for her achievements and the positive impact she has made both locally and statewide.”
Brennan also received the Merit and Fitness Award from the New York State Association of Personnel and Civil Service Officers (NYSAPCSO). This is the highest recognition in the association.
According to the Association, “Brennan was honored in front of almost 200 association members and state representatives for her dedication to the principles of merit and fitness and her commitment to upholding the New York State Civil Service Law as well as her promotion of the values within our New York State Constitution. Her efforts and outstanding contributions go beyond, as demonstrated by her various roles on the Executive Committee of NYSAPCSO. Kerry goes above and beyond her everyday duties, volunteering her time for our association. She has been instrumental in the planning and facilitation our association’s annual conference where Civil Service Officers and staff from all over New York gain valuable knowledge, ensuring success in their roles and ultimately success in the Counties or agencies they represent. In addition, through her work with NYSAPCSO, Kerry has created and streamlined processes within our Committee and Association that have forever transformed our association.”
Brennan has been a Yates County employee for 13 years and a personnel officer for nine.
