UPDATE- Officers were able to determine this was a third party contractor. The individual poses no threat and was advised of the process for obtaining a peddlers permit.

The Penn Yan Police Department has received two complaints locally of a black male in his late 20’s driving a tan Chevy Impala presenting himself as an employee of Spectrum and attempting to gain access to homes. Officers have spoken to Spectrum and they confirmed the male was not their employee. Residents should be aware of this behavior and call the Penn Yan Police Department at 536-4426 if this has happened to you or you have any further information.Residents of the village of Penn Yan are being asked to be on the lookout for the driver of a tan Chevy Impala who has reportedly presented himself as an employee of Spectrum to two village residents in an attempt to gain access to their homes.

The individual was described as being a black male in his late 20s. Police reached out to Spectrum and they confirmed the individual is not an employee.
