Yates County is again exploring the possibility of joining Regional Transit Service, a Regional Transit Authority that serves eight counties, including Ontario, Seneca, and Wayne. During a presentation at Monday’s Legislature meeting, RTS CEO Miguel Velazquez detailed some of the benefits the county would see in joining RTS.
RTS Director of Regional Operations Kenneth Boasi discussed what would be proposed for Yates County bus routes.
Following Monday’s meeting, Legislature Chairwoman Leslie Church told Finger Lakes Daily News that the county Transportation Committee will discuss the information that was presented at its February meeting. The county currently contracts with Yates Transit Services to provide countywide public transportation.
The county last discussed a partnership with RTS about ten years ago.
