Members of the Yates County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Officers Union Local 1869, representing the Road Patrol division of the Sheriff’s Office, conducted its annual “Cops, Kids, and Toys” campaign this month. This campaign began years ago and has grown monumentally with the generous support of community donors and staff who volunteer their time to purchase, wrap, and deliver gifts.
This year, Law Enforcement Officers were able to visit 20 Yates County families, meeting more than 50 children with Christmas cheer and delivering presents. The Union extended an invitation to two Officers from the Penn Yan Police Department to assist its staff in the village of Penn Yan.
In a statement, the Yates County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Officers Union Local 1869 said, “We are proud of the success that this program has had in the past, and we hope to continue giving back to the Yates County community for years to come. Thank you to all who helped in any way, and thank you to all the families for allowing us to come and visit with you and your children. We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.”
