Yates County continues to move forward with a plan to make sure it has enough emergency responders on-hand for when residents call 9-1-1.
Just weeks after Dave Dowdle was hired as EMS Operations Manager for a new county-operated ambulance service, the county Legislature on Monday authorized the hiring of positions for that service. In resolutions introduced by Ed Bronson, six full-time and three part-time paramedics and Emergency Medical Technician positions would be recruited and hired by Brian Winslow, the county’s Director of Emergency Services.
Administrator Nonie Flynn says the new service, which would augment the existing system in the county, would not begin before June 1st. The county has also ordered one new and three used ambulances.
