The Finger Lakes Health Foundation has received an $8,000 grant from the Yates Community Endowment of the Rochester Area Community Foundation to support new equipment for the Emergency Department at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital in Penn Yan.
The grant funded the purchase of larger, more comfortable patient stretchers and new intravenous pumps that allow for remote, real-time monitoring of medicine and fluid administration. These upgrades are designed to improve patient care, enhance comfort, and help hospital staff manage treatment more efficiently.
“We strive every day to provide the best possible care to our patients, whether in the emergency department, in the hospital, or in one of our primary care practices,” says Matthew Talbott, M.D., FACEP, MBA, Chief Medical Officer for Finger Lakes Health. “Stretchers and pumps are the workhorses of the emergency department, important tools that allow us to provide the care our patients need. We are profoundly grateful to the Yates Community Endowment Board for its partnership in promoting and sustaining access to vital health care services in the region.”
