Woman Rescued From Keuka Outlet

SHARE NOW

We’re still working on getting some additional details about a water rescue that happened Tuesday morning on the Keuka Outlet in Dresden.

Here’s what we know: a woman called Yates County 9-1-1 shortly after 10 o’clock to report she was caught in a strong current approximately two-tenths of a mile south of the bridge in Dresden. She reported she was hanging onto a tree limb and her dog was also in the water. The Dresden Fire Department, along with the Branchport-Keuka Park fire department’s dive team responded to the scene. The dog was able to get itself out of the water and its bark helped firefighters locate where the woman was in the water. At around 10:40 a.m. the woman was rescued.

No word yet on if she was injured but a request for Lifenet to transport her to the hospital was turned down.

Penn Yan Ambulance also responded to the scene.
