A date has been chosen for the IMSA car series return to Watkins Glen International in 2025. The IMSA Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen will return to the historic New York road course June 26-29, 2025, for another round of action-packed sports car racing in the heart of the Finger Lakes region.

The announcement comes in advance of the 2024 Sahlen’s Six Hours event weekend, taking place June 20-23, kicking off the start of summer in Watkins Glen.

“Watkins Glen International has enough history to fill bookshelves, with decades worth of incredible racing, and we’re eager to make our mark even more as we look to the future,” said Dawn Burlew, President of Watkins Glen International. “The Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen is an amazing event, with people from all over the globe traveling to our venue, and we’re glad we could kickstart the process for those fans as they prepare for the years to come, right along with us.”

Watkins Glen International has hosted the famous six-hour endurance race since 1969, producing a wide range of winners including some of the most recognizable names in the motorsports industry such as Bruce McLaren and Mario Andretti.

Last year’s Six Hours had drivers across each class battling until the end – and then some. After a chaotic race, BMW M Team RLL secured their first win in the Grand Touring Prototype (GTP) during the class’s debut season. With a lot to prove upon returning to the New York track, the competition is sure to be just as feisty and fast in this year’s rendition of the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen.

The 2024 IMSA race weekend at Watkins Glen International begins on Thursday, June 20 and continues through Sunday, June 23, featuring the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen, the Michelin Pilot Challenge Esses 120 at The Glen, the Porsche Carrera Cup, the Lamborghini Super Trofeo and more.
