A vote will be held today on a $35.8 million Capital Improvement Project in the Watkins Glen School District.
Some of the highlights of the proposed project include upgrading stadium lighting to LED, replacing scoreboards, replacing parking lot asphalt and fencing, improving HVAC, and installing a new distribution panel at the bus garage in preparation for possible electric vehicle charging requirements. In order to fund this estimated 35.8 million dollar project, district officials said there would be a one-time nominal tax impact of 4.08 percent.
Voting takes place from noon until 8 in the Board of Education room.
