Wager’s Cider Mill Hosting 2nd Apple Festival on Saturday

SHARE NOW

Penn Yan’s Wager’s Cider Mill, a third-generation, family-owned apple business, will host its second annual Apple Festival on Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The festival will celebrate fall and the harvest season with a day full of family-friendly activities, food, and vendors.

“We are really excited to again welcome families to celebrate fall at our festival,” said owner Kaylee Wager. “In our second year, we are looking forward to welcoming both new and returning visitors to Penn Yan and the Finger Lakes region to experience the great weather we are having. This is a great event for the whole family.”

Admission is free. Due to limited on-site parking, visitors will be directed to Sherman Street, the American Legion’s back lot, or the Yates County Fairgrounds.

In addition to Wager’s own offerings — including mini apple pies, cider donuts, sweet cider, cider slushies, hard cider, and free apple-and-cheese tastings — several vendors will be on site:

  • Kass’s Kettle Corn
  • October Farms Sourdough
  • Juju’s BBQ
  • Schieks Maple Products
  • Shear Skin
  • Arnold Farms
  • Bluff Point Blooms

The event will also include free face painting for kids, games, and a chance to meet furry friends. Vendors will accept cash.

Wager’s Cider Mill, located at 256 East Main St., Penn Yan, has been in the family for three generations. Owners Geoff and Kaylee Wager purchased the business in 2020 from Geoff’s father, Craig. The mill is home to an antique in-house apple press that continues to make cider the traditional way.

Throughout the fall season, Wager’s offers up to 26 varieties of apples, as well as plums, peaches, grapes, and cherries.
