On Tuesday, water customers on Merchant Street, from Speedway to Main Street, in the village of Odessa will have no water for approximately two hours.
The village said the disruption could last longer, but the construction company will have to dig under an active fire hydrant, so the water must be turned off in case the old line breaks to avoid a flood and other potential issues.
The village apologizes for the inconvenience to the impacted residents but says it is taking the safest approach.
