With 52 votes, Dustin Carnes was elected the new mayor of the village of Odessa.
Carnes outpolled Dan Heichel, who received 35 votes, Kathy Wilkens 26 votes, and Ron Greschler 10 votes. and will take over from retiring Mayor Gerry Messmer at the beginning of next month. Two new trustees were also elected.
Cindy Williamson, who was the only announced candidate, and Bill Horner, who received 11 write-in votes, will succeed Kristine Gardner and Tom Letteer.
