The two people who lost their lives in a two-car accident in Schuyler County last weekend have been identified.
55-year-old Manjula Velikanti and 61-year-old Prasad Velikanti, from India, were killed when the car they were passengers in was struck by another car at the intersection of County Roads 16 and 19 in Watkins Glen. The driver of the car the Velikanti’s were in, 30-year-old Anjani Velikanti, was not injured. He was ticketed for failing to yield the right of way.
The driver and a passenger in the other car were not injured.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
