As the new school year approaches, we’ve received an update from Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES on the search for a new Penn Yan School Superintendent.
BOCES Superintendent Lynne Rutnik says a Superintendent Search survey for the Penn Yan community will be available for two weeks starting on August 28th. On September 12th, the Superintendent Search team will spend the day engaging with all stakeholders. There will be scheduled times for employees and community members to share their feedback. Additional information, including the schedule, will be shared as the date approaches.
The Penn Yan Board of Education has also selected a Hybrid Search Process, which means screenings and first-round interviews will remain confidential. The two finalists for Superintendent will have the opportunity to interact with staff, students, and the community when they each take part in a “Day in the District.” The final phase will include a final interview with participants from diverse stakeholder groups and their entry plan presentations.
Current Superintendent Howard Dennis will retire in early January after 30 years with the district, including the last ten as Superintendent.
Rutnik encourages residents to contact her at [email protected] with any questions or thoughts they may have throughout this process.
