The Northern Yates County United Way Board of Directors has announced that the organization dissolved at the end of 2025.
A news release noted fundraising has become more difficult over the last few years, making it impossible for the organization to fulfill commitments to the many community agencies it has served for many years. And, some businesses that had made substantial contributions from their employees to the United Way over the years no longer offer payroll deduction options, while others find it hard to ask their employees to contribute to the effort when those employees are finding it challenging to navigate today’s economy.
All remaining funds in the Northern Yates County United Way bank account will be dispersed to the recipient agencies.
